In Ariel’s reimagining of these powerful figures, the maternal spider spins the thread of destiny, the flower measures life, and the deadly flytrap cuts life’s string. This composition questions Alice’s autonomy as she journeys through Wonderland and encounters whimsical beings beyond her control.
